Consistently a pleasure to shop here. We came on July 4th in the mid afternoon, zero crowds and a store full of eager staff ready to assist us. Purchases lemon pepper chicken, steak tips, hamburger and chicken cutlets. Remarkably excellent meat always. The experience is always a culinary delight. I B

Update 05.05.2025 - I emailed Butcher Boy & on the same day received an email back explaining the NY Sirloin Steak is just that a "Sirloin Steak" & not a "NY Sirloin Strip Steak. I appreciate that someone got back to me right away. They also sent me a photo what the sign is stated on the front of the display case. I believe my friend saw "NY" Sirloin Steak but didn't carefully check for the word "Strip" on the sign. I've attached the photo's that was emailed to me with the description. They really do have great "customer service"!

I've been a loyal customer at Butcher Boy for about a year now. This past weekend a friend of mine went in and bought me some "NY" Strip steaks and was charged $12.99 a lb, but what was received was "Beef Top Round" London Broil steak. When she returned with the steaks and removed the wrapping I informed her that the steak she purchased were not "NY" Strip Steaks. She then told me there was a sign in front of the beef displayed stating that the steaks purchased were "NY" Strip Steaks, and NOT "Beef Top Round" London Broil. This isn't the 1st time this has happened. 3 months ago she went to Butcher Boy and purchased 4 what were supposed to be "NY" Strip Steaks and they gave her "Beef Top Round" London Broil as well. It was for a friend of mine and immediately she was able to point out that the steaks were NOT "NY" Strip Steaks. We live in the Boston area so we didn't think about driving all the way back to North Andover just to return the items so we just kept them. Overall the quality off their meat is great but this kind of trickery is NOT good for business. I hope someone in the company can quickly correct this error because paying for an item at a premium price and getting lower quality cut for a steak is "unacceptable"! I've attached some photos below to show the difference between steaks, even though my frozen "beef top round" is marked NY strip, it's NOT a NY strip. Let me know what you guys think. I ended up having to buy my NY strip from Star Market and took a photo of their "beef top round" London broil which is priced at $8.99 per lb. What the "Heck"?

Rude staff, you definitely need to be a local to shop here. Very uninviting atmosphere, sadly. Just never felt welcomed in this place. No "Hi how are you today." The cashier couldn't be bothered to even make eye contact. However the store itself is beautiful, has a wide selection of meats, prepared meals and prices seem pretty normal and fair in today's world. The store has a small town country feel like a mama and pa store. That's the type of feel you get walking around. Huge beer, wine and even hard liquor selection, very impressive. Sadly this is how I feel about the store, I won't be back. I'll stick to Haverhill Beef Co instead.

While the meat seems a little less amazing over the past 6 months. Bucher boy is still my go to meat market. My wife and I drive down from Maine every couple of months to stock up. The in-house chicken pot pie is unrivaled, the stuffed roast are always a family favorite.

well I bought a 4.5 lb. boneless prime rib paid $100 for it. It was cooked perfectly medium the way I like it. It had no flavor whatsoever and was not tender. Not sure if this is BB fault but a sirloin holiday roast or eye round has way more flavor and less expensive. It looked incredible uncooked. First and last time I will cook a prime rib from anywhere. It's not worth the cost. I'd love to hear from anyone else about your prime rib experiences.

Bought thee most mouthwatering cowboy steak last week with the help of the 3 fine gentleman behind the counter! We talked about what I was planning on doing with it and then they suggested hands down the best seasoning! Very much worth the price without a second thought! This was my first time here and I will be going back without a doubt! Thank you Butcher Boy!! 11 out of 10🖤

Love going to Butcher Boy. Love the pre-packaged marinated meats. The butchers at the counter are very knowledgeable and helpful. They make great suggestions and can cut things to order. They’ve got a small but tempting bakery counter and a nice fresh produce section. Pre-ordered our fresh turkey for Thanksgiving here also. It was excellent quality.
