No complaints on their ability to handle a large group of 11. This place is just as good as their downtown location. Their fish is excwptional, handled with a delicacy of the best Chinese steamed fish but with Italian butter and lemon flavors. Would be excellent with rice. My complaint is that the desserts are trying too hard, the "cheesecake" and Italian flan are far too deconstructed leaving the doughnuts the best dessert because of it's conventional nature.

Brought my in-laws here and it was their favourite steak and prime rib they’ve ever had. The house-made charcuterie brings us back to Italy every time ❤️There’s something for everyone with great pastas and pizzas, meat and cocktails - tip: eat the pizza fresh cuz the crust is aMAZing One of those rare gems of a place that has an expansive menu and great vibe that’s perfect for both an everyday place and special night out.

We have two people enjoying a meal together. The pasta and beef are both good and the atmosphere is lovely. The octopus flavor is a bit subtle due to the sauce, but still tasty. The fried pork belly is a bit heavy on the fat and skin, could use more meat. Overall it's not a bad experience.

We recently had the pleasure of dining at Charcut to celebrate a friend's special occasion, and it was an experience to remember. The service was top-notch, with attentive staff who made sure every detail of our evening was perfect. We even had the chance to meet a couple of the owners, John and Connie, who personally presented our charcuterie board. A real highlight of the meal. The charcuterie selection was incredible, with a variety of meats and cheeses, many of which are made in-house. The truffle honey was banging! Each bite was a delightful exploration of flavours, setting the tone for the rest of our meal.

We also indulged in a couple of their pizzas, opting for the John Pepperoni and the Margherita. The Pepperoni pizza was loaded with savoury, perfectly spiced slices of pepperoni, while the Margherita was a fresh, vibrant explosion of basil, tomatoes, and sauce above the cheese (a different twist). The crust on both pizzas was absolutely divine: crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and packed with flavour. If you're a pizza lover, Charcut pizzas are an absolute must-try.

For my main course, I couldn't resist the Pork Belly and the Prime Rib. I went with the 8 oz Prime Rib, and it was hands down the best I've ever had. Cooked to a perfect medium rare, the meat was tender, juicy, and bursting with rich, beefy goodness. Next time, I'll definitely be upgrading to the 10 oz! The prime rib is also served with flaky salt and horseradish sauce.

We also ordered a few sides to share, including the Bone Marrow, Parmesan Fries, and Zucchini Salad. The Bone Marrow was decadently rich, with a buttery texture that paired beautifully with the crusty crostinis. The Parmesan Fries were crispy and golden, topped with just the right amount of cheese, and when we dipped them in the Truffle Aioli, it elevated the flavour to another level. The Zucchini Salad was a refreshing contrast, with crisp zucchini ribbons, tangy lemon, and the perfect kick of chillies, balanced by the creaminess of the ricotta and the crunch of chopped pistachios.

Overall, Charcut exceeded all of our expectations. The food, the service, and the ambiance were all fantastic. We left with full stomachs and big smiles, already planning our next visit. Highly recommend!

Finally a super restaurant in the Northwest.

The service and food were both magnificent till the end. We were looking to finish a satisfying meal with coffees and dessert. The coffees came expeditiously.

Despite inquiring three times about the dessert and being told it was coming, it never did. Since it was already about 5 minutes past the time we finished our coffees we cancelled dessert.

This was our first time out at the University location. Sad to say, but we left with a diminished impression of the place.

Another thing not strictly under the control of the restaurant was a table of clearly inebriated patrons screaming and screeching to a level that was completely inappropriate for a civilized public place.

This has to be one of the worst meals we’ve had in Calgary. We ordered a salad with the dressing on the side, and the first picture is what they gave us for $18. I believe I could make this salad for about $1. We sent it back to the kitchen and the manager’s excuse was “it looks bad because the ingredients are on the side”. No, it looks bad because you tried to charge us a ridiculous amount for 3 ingredients.

We then ordered the steak and we think they just recycled our salad that we sent back? The second picture shows the exact same ingredients as “garnish” for our steak.

Steak was undercooked, fatty and full of gristle. Also, way too salty. $140 for the steak and our table wasn't able to stomach it. We threw out all the leftovers when we got home.

After $450, our entire table left with hurting stomachs and a ruined birthday. This place is overpriced, and up-charging everything to seem “premium”. There’s definitely better businesses to support here in Calgary.

Finally a good place! The prosciutto was great. The focaccia was very good. Loved the pasta. The pizzas around me also looking amazing! There is a good choice of different things on the menu. And the dessert was just excellent, no too sweet, very nice flavor (chocolate, caramel..). This will for sure be very soon a place where you struggle to find a table! I will be back!
