I've been using these guys for going on 15 years. Such a beautiful, family run business which takes great care of their customers. We feel like family every time we're there. The owner even taught me some tricks to skinning and how to keep the meat cooler when it's warmer out when I first started using them years ago. So, as far as customer service, they are by far the best processor I've ever used.

In addition, as far as the quality of work, they do the best job of any processor I've used in Arizona (I've used many - especially in areas around Payson and Flagstaff). With other processors, you often have to wonder if the meat you get back is your own, covered in hair, packaged nicely, etc. At Coconino Game Processing, I can ensure you that you'll get your own meat, it's always nicely trimmed, cut, and clean, and they will package it however you'd like. You can pick how many steaks you want packaged together, how many pounds of burger per package, what cuts you want, etc. Also, if you're from down in the valley, they will do bulk deliveries for a small charge during the thick of hunting season so you don't have to make the drive back up just to pick up your meat.

These guys do an absolute amazing job and I just wanted to ensure you that you can not go wrong with these guys. They are the one-stop-shop that will get you the quality and friendly service you're looking for!

The Facility:
First off, the facility itself is clean, well-organized, and professional. From the moment I stepped inside, I could tell that Coconino Meat Processing takes pride in what they do. Everything is maintained to a high standard, which gave me confidence that my meat was in safe hands. The area where the actual processing happens is spotless, and it’s clear that hygiene and food safety are top priorities.

Customer Service:The customer service here is exceptional. I spoke with Devin, who was super friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to answer all of my questions about the processing options, cuts, and packaging. I appreciated that he took the time to explain the different services they offer, including specialty cuts, sausage making, jerky, and smoked products. They offer a range of options to suit just about any preference, and Devins insight into what works best for each situation was invaluable.

The team was incredibly communicative throughout the process. After I dropped off the meat, I received updates on its status and a clear timeline for when it would be ready for pick-up. This level of communication helped me feel informed and at ease throughout the entire process.

Turnaround Time:The processing time was faster than I expected. I was told it would take about 10-14 days for my order to be ready, and it was completed on schedule. This was a pleasant surprise, as I’ve had experiences with other places where turnaround times were much longer, and I was left waiting weeks for my order.
The Processing:As for the actual processing, I couldn’t be happier with the results. The cuts were incredibly well done—everything from steaks to roasts was expertly portioned and packaged. The team did a fantastic job of breaking down the meat exactly as I requested. I was especially impressed with how clean and neat the cuts were, which reflects the attention to detail and skill of the butchers.

I also opted for a batch of sausage and some jerky, and both were absolutely outstanding. The jerky was tender yet still had that satisfying chew, with a deep smokiness that spoke to their expertise in curing and smoking meats. Both products were far beyond what I’ve gotten from other processors, and it’s clear that Coconino Meat Processing uses top-tier ingredients and techniques.

Value for Money:When it comes to price, I found Coconino Meat Processing to be incredibly reasonable for the level of service and quality they provide. I’ve shopped around at other places, and while prices can vary depending on location and specific services, I felt like I was getting real value for my money here. The pricing was transparent, with no hidden fees or surprise costs. Given the premium quality of the work they do, I would absolutely say that the value is unbeatable.

Location:Located just outside of Flagstaff, the shop is easy to find and offers ample parking. It’s not too far from downtown Flagstaff, making it very convenient for locals and visitors alike. I found the drop-off and pick-up process to be smooth and hassle-free. Even though it’s in a somewhat rural area, the location is well worth the short drive out from the city center.

Do not use. They initially told us they would deliver to Phoenix Sportsman’s but apparently they had issues with their truck so we had to drive to pick up our meat since they were running out of room. All deer were under 100 pounds so they charged us a flat $140 per and didn’t discount it. Also, completely unorganized. We dropped 3 deer and they mixed up the meat. We had to sort it ourselves. They were extremely lazy and ground some of our meat that could have been turned into steaks and roasts. Will never use them again.
