Yes, it feels like a hippie store and yes that's why I like it. Friendly, welcoming, inclusive (unless you insist on animal carcasses), with great vegan food, and plenty of esoteric goods. I feel like I'm transported to an updated 70s. Not sure what it is but I received two of the best smiles of the year in only a few minutes talking to staff.

Just walking through the door, I feel like I've walked into another world. 😆 I'm making the singing bowls sing and love seeing what new clothing is in while waiting for my food. Go early on Wednesday for Lasagna! Love everything about Golden Temple. When I worked at UAB Highlands, I walked every day to lunch. ❤️ 💙 💜

Amazing staff. Everyone is friendly. Incredible selection of organic goods. The coffee is fantastic. You should definitely check out the Full Lumberjack Beard Oil brand. If you have a beard, you need that product.

This place is a Birmingham gem! There are options for every dietary need and even a specialty grocery area in the store. Things are a little pricey, but it's worth the convenience. Especially considering there is not many places that carry the goods environment etc like it in Birmingham.

Love to shop the store for the variety of teas. The peppermint tea served in the cafe is delicious. I recently ate in the cafe and had the tofu and veggie stirfry. It was WAYYY too salty! I was happy to have the thai coconut soup on the side with rice. That was delicious!

Came here while visiting from out of state and purchased the cutest pair of sandals and a few bracelets that I wear or have on me daily, along with a few other items and gifts for others. My mom and I browsed the store for at least an hour and had a great lunch in the cafe afterwards. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable and there was a good vibe in the store. Next time I visit Birmingham I will definitely be back!

This place is absolutely amazing. The majority of the regular menu is the same ingredients done different ways, but the specials and soups, that's where it's at. The potato leek soup and the farmer's pie are the rarest, but most amazing things you will ever eat there. The people are nice and the food comes out fast. Not to mention it's the only vegetarian cafe in the city of birmingham. The food is a bit pricey, but trust me, it's worth it.
