The JBER main exchange is located on the military base located in Anchorage, Alaska. We visited the Anchorage area this summer, and we wanted to stop by this small mall that is accessible for military personnel.

The facility was very clean and well maintained. The main exchange always has great prices and is very affordable for families. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and professional. I'm sure that we will return for another visit the next time we're in the area.

They have so many items, like furniture, that just say to order them on shop my exchange, but everything on shop my exchange won't ship to Alaska... So what's the point?

This review is intended as a suggestion for the barber shop. I went there for the first time- first hair cut in Alaska, hoping to support the AAFES. The lady ( actually all of them) didn’t clean/ sanitize the equipments, clippers between customers. I took my chance and ended up with a severe breakout. Today, I went off base for hair cut and realized that I am not the only service member feeling this way. Hope, management see this review and make necessary changes. Unfortunately, I won’t utilize this barber shop for next 3 years, I rather wait a long line and pay more off base than another unsanitary AAFES barbershop.

Since the government sold out to Civilian companies and people, the prices for everything from Housing to the Exchange and the Commissary has increased to the point of no longer being a benefit to the Military and only benefits the Civilian owners and Contractors! The prices are out of control! Thank you, Biden and obama!

I was at customer service trying to exchange coins to bills and the lady was so snarky and just sitting there like sighing and just like her demeanor was awful and the other girl that works at customer service came over and just was staring and said something under her breath💀

Decent selection of items. Much better Alaska tourist selection of goods than walmart. Good seasonal sales on firearms with star card. Ashley furniture is a steal. Booze is convenient but not a better deal than brown jug with the 10% military discount

Nice PX that has your typical exchange items. Not very competitive against stores in Anchorage and with no state sales tax in Alaska you really don't save anything in my opinion. It's better to shop out in town for specialty items and hunting/fishing equipment.
