I wish I could give more than 5 stars !!! Michael and Onislanchef's crew were absolutely fabulous at the family reunion which they catered for our group. My extended family all think of themselves as “foodies” so are a very tough group to please BUT they raved non-stop about how delicious and fresh the food was, and how attentive and friendly the staff was for all. The chef and staff asked for feedback multiple times throughout the night and at the end of the evening packed up several to-go containers for family members to take with them. Before the reunion Onislandschefs worked with us diligently to plan the full menu based on local fresh ingredients and taking into consideration requests and preferences from our extended family. Everything was PERFECT and I could not have asked for a better catering service – I cannot recommend Onislandschefs highly enough - they are truly the best!

Michael and his team are friendly, considerate and responsive. I've hosted several private events in different cities and Michael tops the list in both the quality of the food and his service. I helped host a private event in Nantucket with OIC recently for around 80 people. The passed apps were tasty and prepared quickly, as was the main course. The lobster bake is a must-order. The company has also provided some at-home meals that are perfect for a beach weekend, like a beautiful orzo salads, heirloom and tomato and burrata salad, light healthy dishes that you can graze on throughout the week. Most importantly, Michael is someone you want in your kitchen. He's good company and cleans up!

BEWARE, this was a truly appalling experience. First off, we were given a menu, which the host distributed in advance to all guests, and then the menu was not adhered to. Not only was the menu not adhered to, but courses were missing. Also, if you have dogs, they’ll claim your animals are attacking them. (The host had a friendly tiny 25 lb duck tolling retriever). We were served lobster rolls which were decent, frozen / gross crab cakes from a frozen box, and a terrible salad with wilting fruit. It tasted old and pre-packaged from a takeaway at stop and shop or somewhere, but then left in the fridge for a week before serving. There was supposed to be burrata (missing). There were supposed to be sliders (missing). There was supposed to be aioli with the crab cakes (missing). There was supposed to be an onion jam (missing). We each were served re-heated beef tenderloin, 3 asparagus spears, and a dry congealed square of box macaroni and cheese with lobster added. You could actually tell it was boxed mac n cheese from the distinctive noodle shape. Dessert was a cheap grocery store cheesecake. To end it all, they ruined the hosts steak knives by putting the beautiful BRAND NEW French wood handled knives in the dishwasher. What chef puts wood in the dishwasher! I was told by the host the chef went on online and bought her $15.99 knock off knives after the fact to replace them. What a disgrace of a business. They also were awful to deal with after we gave them several chances to make this right.
