This is a brand new store in Semmes, and I had the pleasure of being there on opening day. The food and desserts are fantastic, and the customer service is excellent. I really enjoy dining there! The prices are reasonable, and there were some great deals on opening day. We also got fresh produce and fruits, which was a nice touch. I highly recommend visiting this new Publix store in our lovely neighborhood!

Absolutely outrageous prices from trying to show a first quarter of business profit on a new store. Everything there is extremely overpriced for not only the product and area. But the quality as well. And before anyone says "well that's because it's so lean". Nope. Aldi's has leaner ground beef for cheaper. This is Publix 85/15.

My experiences with the Assistant store manger JIMMIE Hall is Unacceptable and his actions negatively affected my shopping experience. Displayed bigotry & was utterly disgusting how someone can be working in a company such as Publix, that is blatantly disrespectful.

To say being displeased and the level of discomfort is an understatement.

I have been shopping at Publix for years & I know longer have to drive to Publix on Airport or saraland being 25 almost 30 minutes away. Unless I’m down that way.

Between my groceries and my household needs, I Spend over $2,000.00 a month between on line orders (Insta cart) and in store.

I recall speaking with Michael the store manager a while back when I had a discrepancy with online delivery order that was delivery to my home and some of the orders that was purchased was Subsitutes and I had to return those items.

Due to the gentleman who assisted me with the return order did not know how to return an online insta cart order-therefore he asked to used my ID instead of the my online receipt.

I had concerns about giving my ID on return orders without my receipt. As by all means I do not want to do a return without my receipt copy or using my Publix app.

Which led me to speak with Michael the store manager. Not to get anyone in trouble but to see what was the cause of asking for my ID when I have my receipt.
Michael was sincerely apologetic and he too provided a clear directive and he apologized again as the ID was not needed.

On this afternoon of 2/16/2025: Sara the customer service representative who works the front end at the Semmes location assisted me with 2 of my returns this afternoon. One where I had an apple cider 6 pack and a Vapo Cool Sore throat.

I advised Sara, I have the receipt for the apple cider on my Publix app. But the vapo cool may not be on my receipts- I have receipts dated back all the way from February 2023.

I stood there all of 5 minutes with my online app with my receipt.

Sara facial expression and shrugging of her shoulders was very wavering-as if she was unsure.
I ask her instead of cash for the one item with the receipt to just placed both items on a gift card to prevent multiple transactions.
She dropped the gift card in the tote basket after waiting 7 minutes to do a return.

I proceed to walk around the store to grab a few household items- Jimmy the assistant store manager of the store in the semmes.
He once worked in the store on Airport Blvd to say the least.

This “man” approached me as I was leaving from down isle 1. He told me verbatim in the middle of the cashier and other customers, “that his “girls” cannot do a receipt without a return.”

Basically he attempts to disparage my character. I explained to him that I did have my receipt for one of the items. In fact majority of my receipts are on publix app.
The Publix policy does not state that.

He proceeded to say “that his “girls” cannot do a return without a receipt due to “habitual” returns.

Habitual return is a slight indication that “I am taking products from the store and returning and cannot show proof.”

For him to disclose that Theresa the customer service manager mentioned to him “that I had a return earlier this morning and even though I had my receipt. It’s two RETURNS in one day with or without receipt.”

Jimmy mention verbatim- at “his store” told me how arrogant and disgusting he was as an individual.

I immediately informed him-I will be calling the district manger Monday and will be filing a formal written complaint that will be sent by email to the corporate office in FL.

I’m not disappointed in Publix because there are “extraordinary People” who work for this company I know personally who provides “Premier Services” and been with Publix for over 12 years.

Jimmy is very BIASED. His behavior is despicable and is down right unacceptable.

Satisfaction guarantee:
Publix will refund the full purchase price if a customer is not satisfied with their purchase. Customers can show their purchase history to a Customer Service associate to receive a refund.

Bruno was the most welcoming and helpful sandwich technician, and made me the best sub I’ve ever had. I’ve never been to Publix. Decided to stop in today and I felt like I was in some sort of dystopia. Everything was perfectly aligned perfectly clean and everyone was super nice. much different than Walmart with all the crackheads. Oh and the red velvet cake from the bakery was super good too. Definitely will be back.

Trash! I love Publix and I was so excited to have one near us. The first visit and it is not the Publix experience I am accustomed to. I did a sandwich order the night before. I got there and the order wasn't ready, and the excuse I got was that 'we were waiting on bread.' We did not receive a call or an email telling us it was delayed. This is not the same vibe of every other Publix I have ever shopped in. They don't even greet you while you're in the store. So disappointed! They definitely have a lot of work to do

As much as I have loved Publix ever since I was a kid and continue to be a loyal customer I have never been more disappointed
I went in to get the standing rib roast they have on sale and my other groceries and I had a competitor coupon from Rouses for 20.00 off the standing rib roast with a limit of 1. Publix refused the coupon and I did receive a call today from the manager that stated it came from the corp office.
How embarrassing it is to stand in line and feel like the other customers think you are trying to do something wrong. If you are going to advertise that you take competitors coupons from Rouses then you don’t need to pick and choose. Shame on Publix for acting like the Grinch…….. Publix is not the store it use to be …….

never thought i'd see a publix in Mobile with self checkouts. incredibly clean and organized store. very friendly and helpful staff.
