Best sandwiches of my entire life! All I can say is “WOW”!! Tried 4 different sandwiches and they were all amazing! If you’re anywhere near Chattanooga, do yourself a favor and stop here for an insanely delicious sandwich.

Best Deli in the whole state of Tennessee by far. Me and my buddy Steve got to meet Bruce the owner and he gave us all this history behind his deli and gave us some phenomenal recommendations! My buddy had the Cuban sandwich with a chicken tortilla soup on the side and it was fantastic. I got the chopped Italian Hoagie and it was just what I needed this morning. To anyone in Chattanooga looking for a Deli, I would heavily recommend the river street Deli These guys know what they’re doing.

What an amazing place to enjoy a sensational sandwich and to chat with the locals. We got to enjoy getting to know the owner Bruce and some of his amazing staff, Michelle, Libby, Mel, Dusty and Jeff.
We went 3 days in a row for lunch and got the Specials everyday.
1st day was the Chicago Beef done wet and the Stromboli. Both sensational especially dipping in the Aus us.
2nd day was the Beef Brooklyn style and the Ham and Brie sandwich. Absolutely delicious.
3rd day was take out and we got the Italian sandwich and tortilla soup which was soooooo good.
If I lived in Chattanooga I would be a regular.

Sandwiches tasty and price was OK, interior grungy, prime location. River Street compares poorly with big city deli's so if this is your frame of reference you will be disappointed. I had the Zamboni which other have raved about, their version, a good sandwich with quality lunch meats and cheese pressed flat and toasted black. The good, tabletops clean and quickly bussed, the bad, furniture chipped/cushions split, low ceiling, dirty stained carpet, hallway and back room a mess and full of what appear to be chemicals, generally dirty n grubby appearance. Their display cabinets were not inspiring, basic variety of salads, desert cabinet disappointing, displayed one offering, big sugar cookie, two ways. Like I said, not like a big city deli. Staff were nice and wait time was short, place nearly empty. Wife had the muffuletta which she enjoyed, it was on a very large bun, I tasted the bread which was flavorful. I will get it, if there is a next time and eat along the river or in the nearby park. Parking is a problem during lunch or in the evening,

If you have been to a real NY Jewish Deli, you will find this deli very disappointing.

The corned beef in my sandwich was the same processed meat you get at the grocery store. They aren’t corning the meat themselves. The rye bread is blah. And they glopped on way too much mustard.

While the staff is super friendly, the restaurant itself is a dump inside. The location is great though if you want to go for a walk on a nice day.

Not sure what I ordered since I didn’t really order it myself. Good sandwich overall, never had one like it. Place had a slight NY feel to it. Decent service and good sandwiches.

This is one of my favorite places to go in Chattanooga. His flavors knock it out of the park! Great for a day date or family time. The owner is a hoot and staff is always kind. Keep up the great job River street!
P.S. Get the Elena ruz
